IT IS IN YOUR HANDS
The best way to predict a future is to create it.
Once upon a time (time! time!!), there lived an old sage in a land so far away on the top of a hill away from the noise and distractions of the world below him. He had committed all his to private study and meditation in his old wooden cabin house. Great men and women from far and near used to come visit and consult him on matters that seem too difficult for them to handle. His answers were always on point and precise, when his methods or solutions were implemented were tested they turned out excellent results. Soon people from neighboring and distant communities began to flock to him just to hear him speak and to partake of his wisdom.

In the village was a group of boys who played together as kids, they were part of the regular visitor at the wise man’s cabin. Every time they come visiting the boys would conjure up a host of difficult questions with the intention of confounding the wise man and prove him foolish. Over time it became a game of sort between the Wise man and the mischievous boys. All their effort to fool the old man proved abortive and he continued to defuse their riddles and puzzles. One day the ring of the Lord of the group, a boy named Aram summoned his group to himself “I have finally found a way to trick the old man” he said. Here in my hand, I have a bird. We will go and ask the old man if the bird is dead or alive. If he says it is dead, I will release it and it will fly away. If he says it is alive, I will crush it, and the bird will be dead. Either way, he will, at last, have been proven wrong.”
Full of excitement at the prospect of the scheme the boys ran up to the hill to the old man’s house. The Old man could not but notice the excitement and the eagerness in their face as they ran uphill to his house. Finally, when they got him Aram spoke. “Old man,” he said, “I have a bird here in my hands, is it alive or is it dead?” The old man looked at the eagerly expectant kids standing around Aram, and said: “Aram the bird is in your hand, dead or alive it is in your hand and you determine what happens to it.” The boys all laughed and applauded the old man. They were stunned beyond measure at the wisdom of old man, who looked at Aram laughing as he went away. The moral of the story is very simple just like the bird in the hands of Aram your life is in your hands and what happens eventually is up to you to decide. Thus today I encourage you to do the following
1 TAKE RESPONSIBILITY
You can choose to blame the government, you can choose to blame your parents, and you can even choose to blame your employers. But the ultimate truth remains that you have the power to create and recreate your life and destiny, it is all in your hand! No one else has the power to change your life, it is all in your hands. You are the decider, not the government or your parents, it is up to you to decide how you will live. Quit blaming other people for your life that’s surrendering your life to them. Accept responsibility to turn your life in the direction you so desire. Take over the driver’s seat of your life and seize the steering wheel of your destiny. Nothing will change except you change it, you can complain till the Pacific runs dry but it will not make you better. To see the change you desire in your life you have to accept responsibility for everything that befalls you whether good or bad. Someone said, “if we succeed it’s our fault and if we fail it’s our fault too”. The biggest obstacle to your success is the person you see in the mirror every morning. Don’t pass the buck to another person, take charge of your life and it will have no choice but to adjust it sails to your internal calibrations.
2 TAKE ACTION
Life doesn’t respond to those who complain it responds to those who take steps to make themselves better. Don’t just sit by and watch others accomplish their dreams. Wake up and do something to make a difference in your lifetime. Mere wishes and daydreams will never produce results, plans and goals have to be corroborated with the corresponding action to bring them into reality. Dr. Mike Murdock said, “the proof of desire is pursuit”. If you truly want your life to change you will take steps to validate your claim. You might need to sign up for a higher degree, register for a course, acquire a new skill or change your location, whatever it is you have to do, do it. Make some moves, refuse to be complacent and redundant, go out and do something to improve your life. The difference between ordinary and extraordinary people is the little extra effort they apply to their goals and dreams. You are not here to sell groundnuts or clap for other people you are here to make an impact. Refuse to be complacent for one more day, take charge and watch things change. The best helping hand you have is the one at the end of your elbow you either use it or remain miserable for the rest of your life.
Life is designed and programmed to answer to deliberate and intentional people, this is your wake up call, hearken and get moving now. The steps you take makes it one less step to your promised land. Set your sail and get out of your comfort zone. It is all in your hand, your fortune or misfortune, your success or your failure, your progress or eventual retrogression; it’s all in your hands.Follow Love Venture on WordPress.com
